Lockdown Lifestyle 2.0: Let’s Talk 2021 Finances

Welcome Back Everyone

We’ve gone over the ins and outs of the diet and exercise for 2021 and what the goals are, how I’m aiming to do it and what I’ll be blogging about around this subject

But it’s time to get into the money side of things! Bear with me, I haven’t done this in a while

1 thing with me is I’m happy to be 100% transparent and more than happy to disclose all the information I can about my finances in the hope that it helps motivate someone else or inspire someone else to try and turn their own situation around

So this year I’ve made a conscious decision that it will be the year to become debt free along side gathering some savings and really setting myself up moving forward past 2021 in terms of finances

I’ve said this before and I’ve done bits and pieces to pay off my debt but I have never been 100% focused on that and as a result I’m still here and still in debt

Let’s make 2021 the year of change though

So what’s the starting point I hear you ask…

Well, late last year I changed jobs which has been massive for me and included a nice increase in my monthly pay which will be put to work this year clearing the debts I have

In regards to what I owe or who I owe money to ive listed these below

Current Outstanding Debt

1. Car – £5184

2. Lowell 1 – £600

3. Lowell 2 – £850

4. Family – £2200

5. Moorcroft – £974

6. Vanquis – £200

7. Capital One – £200

New Total – £9,354.00

We’re currently sat at £9354.00 owed with a monthly wage of around £1350 per month, though since my last money blog I have moved out of my mums house and into a place with my partner and daughter!

I’ve also taken on a lot of the responsibilities when it comes to paying the bills due to my partner being made redundant during lockdown one and furloughed in this current lockdown

Now let’s talk about how I plan on paying off my debts whilst paying the bills and doing my best to save

Through my income:

With being paid around £1350 my monthly outgoings are going to look something like below on my basic wage

⁃ Rent & Bills: £700

⁃ Car: £250

⁃ Phone O2: £50

⁃ iPad: £30

⁃ Car insurance: £30

⁃ Lowell: £20

⁃ Petrol: £100

⁃ Moorcroft: £10

⁃ Family: £50

Total: £1240

As you can see on my basic wage (£1350) this is going to leave me around £110 a month spare after paying the above bills & debts, which is not a huge amount

Now I haven’t included my credit cards in this monthly breakdown as I do plan to pay these off or as close to off as I can on my payday this month (January) so that will be around £400 of debt gone! Fingers Crossed! Though if this does change come the end of the month we will look to re calculate our budget for the months ahead

Therefor I’ll be looking for ways to increase my income through multiple other avenues and sources including

Overtime:

The most obvious stream of additional income will be through overtime at work & through the premiums I am paid for certain hours / times of the day!

This will mean each month anything I earn over the figure of £1350 will go towards another debt

Let’s say in February I am paid £1500, this will give me £150 additional income, with this I will look to pay off say more of my car loan to try and pay this off at a quicker pace and as this is the biggest expense (in terms of debt) a month it seems like a good idea to try and get rid of this first

Apps:

Mainly I’ll be using 2 apps

Shoppix!

Now if you haven’t heard of this app, which I’m sure many of you haven’t it’s an app in which you scan your receipts from purchases and gain tokens (around 25-30 tokens per scan)

In turn these tokens can be exchanged for PayPal funds, it’s around 3100 tokens I believe to get £5 in funds but this is pretty easy depending on how often you shop & it’s free money when you only need to scan the receipts you would other wise bin

Buy your shopping, Scan your receipt, Earn PayPal Funds

Top Cash Back

This is another personal favourite of mine and it’s super simple to use! Just download the app or log onto the website, search for the site your going to make a purchase from, click the link and make your purchase! You’ll then receive cash back from these purchases which is great as you were going to buy the items anyway so why not get some money back

I’ve so far used this for my electricity provider, internet, and a few shops with adidas, just eat and others and have got to about £250! This year I plan on checking every purchase and making a lot more! Fingers Crossed!

Earn Cashback on your usual purchases 💰

The next additional income source will be through Gaming

You may ask but how am I going to do this! And the thing I’m talking about will be through a well known game called Fortnite and more so through the Support a Creator programme!

So if you, your friend, a family member, your paper boy or anyone you know reading this plays fortnite and wants to purchase something from the Item Shop be sure to use creator code: DRAGE162

For this the payout amount is rather high at $100 and you do not get too much back due to the size of each transaction but I’m hoping this year I will be able to get enough support to receive my first payout

This is will be a rare one but it will still be an additional income stream should it happen and will be around £70 per payout which would be a nice chunk from a bill/ debt which is great

I also have an affiliate link for a site called CD Keys! If you haven’t heard of CD Keys they sell keys for everything from PC games to Xbox currency, from PS4 / 5 games to Gift card codes, and you can find the link to them through my linktree https://linktr.ee/drage162

Next up on the additional income streams will be through affiliate marketing

For this you do need to have a decent following, and you need to be advertising things that people who follow you may actually use or you feel they could use and over the next 12 months I’ll be looking to add some affiliate marketing to the page for goods I think will benefit any of my readers

Finally I’ll be looking into a few different bits and pieces for different streams of income!

I’ll be jumping back into Football Index and looking to get back to investing in the platform! I’ll be sure to post up any players I purchase etc but will be looking at players for PB and who can make the TOTM too!

I’m also currently looking into Crypto Currency and a few mining pools which pay around 25% profit per cycle on a $500 investment

I’m also thinking about the possibility of getting involved in reselling! In the past I have bought and sold a couple of pairs of yeezys and know there is money to be made if you can make the initial investment into the items and this may be a good year to start doing this more.

My other 2 idea will be number 1 to focus more on the tournament on Footstock! Again like football index this platform is all about creating teams through player cards and entering tournaments to play other players and win a share of the prize pool!

It’s a really fun and exciting platform and mixes Gambling with FPL style mechanics, again if you want to get involved in this please do sign up via my link tree and help support the blog/ content

Finally, ill also be looking at maybe doing an In play or pre match challenge or 2 on a bookmaker! I’ve done a few of these in the past and been successful enough! So we may look at starting with say £10 and see if we can hit £100, then £500, then £1000! We may even look at streaming some bits and pieces around this, so stay tuned

Of course if you do join football index, footstock or take part in any challenges please gamble responsible and remember it is 18+ for these sites

I’m also thinking about getting some gigs up on Fiverr, though my current issue is that I do not know what skill set I possess that could be marketable unfortunately and that makes it very hard 🤦🏻‍♂️

This is just a small breakdown of the income streams I have thought about and will be looking to utilise but if anyone has any ideas of other streams of income I should look into I’d love to hear from you via the blog or via socials

Along with these and my income I do believe I’ll be able to get into a position where I can pay my debt off not only this year but with a few months to spare! Of course I’ll be documenting this all the way through the journey and we will see come December 2021 how I have done and wether I managed to achieve my goals

The year 2021 is all about growth and setting up a position to progress from 2022! We want to create the foundations with some strong income streams, get debt free, and gather funds for emergencies so that we don’t fall back into the same positions

For now though that’s me for today, so stay safe, stay home, stay positive & stay supporting! & if you do want to sign up for Top Cash Back, Buy a new game or some points for a game of your choice, or sign up for football index check them out via https://linktr.ee/drage162 ♥️
